Arizona Diamondbacks to Make the Playoffs (+250)
The Diamondbacks present an intriguing value at +250 to make the playoffs. Despite a recent slump, they remain within striking distance of a Wild Card spot. The team has shown resilience, and with players like Corbin Carroll and Eugenio Suarez leading the offense, there's potential for a strong second-half surge.
While challenges exist, including a competitive NL West, Arizona has the talent to capitalize if things break their way.
San Diego Padres to Miss the Playoffs (+152)
The value is all on the “No” side here. The Padres have been one of the most frustrating teams in baseball, rich in talent but unable to put it together. The lineup looks great on paper with Tatis, Machado, and Bogaerts, but the team hasn’t shown the consistency needed to survive the NL Wild Card race.
The rotation lacks depth, and the bullpen has been unreliable in tight spots. With the D-backs, Giants, and even the Cardinals pushing, this could be another season where San Diego falls short. At +152, fading the Friars makes sense.
2025 MLB Playoff Chances - As of June 4
Detroit Tigers – 95.5% Playoff Odds (Per Fangraphs)
Detroit is playing like a team on a mission. Currently atop the AL Central and the AL, the Tigers are a near-lock to play October baseball. The young core has matured quickly, and the pitching has kept pace. With a 98.2% playoff chance, per FanGraphs, Detroit is on pace for a second consecutive playoff berth. The Tigers are a sharp pick in the World Series odds.
Philadelphia Phillies – 90.1% Playoff Odds
Philly looks the part of a playoff mainstay again. Bryce Harper and Zack Wheeler have anchored a team that sits atop the NL East and owns a 90.1% playoff projection. On pace for over 90 wins and one of the league’s more balanced rosters, the Phillies look like a team built not just to get in, but to hang around in October.
Chicago Cubs – 87.9% Playoff Odds
The Cubs have kicked the door down in 2025. Sitting first in the NL Central with a .607 win percentage and the highest playoff odds in the National League, Chicago has gone from hopeful to dangerous. FanGraphs pegs them at 92 projected wins and 87.9% to make the playoffs. If the rotation holds, this is a team that could make serious noise.

Odds as of June 4 at Sportsbook
Chicago Cubs OVER 95.5 Wins (-114)
The oddsmakers have caught up to the Cubs’ dominance. Now posted at 95.5 wins, this total reflects just how good this team has been — and how much is still expected. Even with Justin Steele out for the year and Shota Imanaga nursing a hamstring issue, the Cubs are getting it done behind a deep offense and timely bullpen work. A few trade deadline reinforcements could push this group toward 100 wins. This is no longer a sneaky play, but the OVER still has legs if you believe in the roster depth.
Atlanta Braves UNDER 86.5 Wins (-115)
The number has dropped, and it still might not be low enough. Atlanta’s rotation has held up, but the offense continues to be streaky and unreliable. Injuries to key players and early-season slumps have set the tone, and the Braves are now fighting uphill in the NL playoff race. Unless the bats turn around fast, this looks like a season that ends with disappointment, not 87-plus wins.
New York Mets UNDER 95.5 Wins (-102)
The Mets’ ceiling is sky-high, but their win total remains a little rich. Juan Soto has been getting on base, but not driving the ball like usual. Jesse Winker’s injury thinned an already inconsistent lineup, and the rotation, while sharp, still relies on a few arms with checkered health histories. At this number, there’s no room for slip-ups. Given the strength of the division and the bumps we’ve already seen, the UNDER is a solid play.
