MLB player Props Today
Abraham Toro OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+140 at Sportsbook)
Toro is clearly playing the best baseball of his career, and with some added pop to his approach, he has quietly cashed the OVER 1.5 total bases in five straight contests. A matchup with the Rays suggests he will make it six in a row Tuesday.
The Canadian isn't one for taking walks, yet his free-swinging approach has worked to his favor. Toro owns a .333 BA and .563 SLG through 25 games. His best work came Sunday, when he picked up three hits, including a double and a homer vs the Yankees.
Now he faces Ryan Pepiot. Toro is 1-for-3 lifetime vs Pepiot with a double, suggesting he will keep the party going at +140. It's a fair price for one of the best prop bets in baseball right now.
Shohei Ohtani OVER 1.5 Total Bases (-110 at Sportsbook)
I considered a few other props but ultimately walked my way back to Ohtani, who has excellent numbers against Padres starter Dylan Cease. Ohtani is 6-for-19 lifetime vs Cease with a double and three home runs. That's enough to justify pick'em odds in this contest.
One swing is all it takes for Ohtani, and his power numbers are off the charts lately. While his average in June is .250, the Dodgers star is slugging .722 with three extra-base hits and has cashed the OVER 1.5 in four of his last five contests. It's also worth noting that Cease has struggled this season, posting a 4.72 ERA (86 ERA+) in 13 outings.
