The April numbers released by government agency iGaming Ontario show gross online gambling revenue totalling $313 million (US$229 million), with casino games ing for just under $243 million of that cash.

The total number represents a 25% increase from the same month a year ago and a 6% rise over March ($296 million).

These are the kinds of figures that lobbyists currently doing business in British Columbia are quick to share with the government officials they are working to convince of the benefits of regulating.

"We now have three years of evidence that iGaming regulation channels nearly 90% of the play into a compliance regime and that a regulated private sector working alongside a lottery offering captures the vast majority of play,” lobbyist, consultant, and President of TRM Public Affairs, Troy Ross, told Odds Shark.

This has repatriated significant revenues that were previously lost to the province. We also have three years of data that proves the claims about market cannibalization are simply not true, both iGO revenues and Ontario Lottery profits are both up year over year.
