Americans across the nation are having a glizzy outcry as 16-time winner, Joey Chestnut, is banned from the competition.

Joey Chestnut is out of a job. After partnering with Impossible Foods, Major League Eating (yeah, that's a real thing) organizers altered agreements to endorsement deals. 

Chestnut's reign of eight consecutive Mustard Belts is now over. Still, the 40-year-old holds the all-time record of swallowing 76 hot dogs and buns back in 2021.

geoffrey esper favored to win nathan's hot dog eating contest

Chestnut entered last year's chomping competition as a whopping -4000 favorite. But, now the field is more level. Geoffrey Esper enters as the slight -115 betting favorite.

The last three years, the 49-year-old has been known as the guy constantly finishing second to Chestnut. In 2023, his total of 49 didn't come close to Chestnut's 62. So instead, he left the party with nothing but an empty stomach. Now, the Massachusetts native can finally make himself, his wife and mom proud by living out his dream of slamming down the most soggy, wet hot dogs this holiday.

Sudo is the poster girl for little girls who aspire to devour copious amounts of hot dogs. She has won nine of the last 10 contests, with the exception of 2021. But, that's only because she had to sit out for being pregnant -- I guess glizzys weren't a pregnancy craving of hers. 

Looking to break a personal best of 48.5, Sudo will also her husband, Nick Wehry (+1100), at the men's table. After Wehry set a world-record for gulping down 50 hard-boiled eggs in 2021, he turned to Sudo to propose. And they say romance is dead! 

It's truly a Cinderella story, Sudo will continue her iconic run.
